Job duties include:
- Performs screening and diagnostic mammograms and assists physicians with specialized image-guided breast procedures (e.g., biopsies, galactograms).
- Prepares exam rooms and operates mammographic equipment, ensuring proper settings and positioning based on patient-specific factors.
- Ensures patient safety and comfort, including use of radiation protection, proper identification, and clear communication during procedures.
- Conducts quality control checks and maintains compliance with Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements.
- Provides training and support for new technologists, students, and new department personnel.
