TITLE: Medical Assistant 8782900
LOCATION: Chowchilla, CA 93610
SHIFTS: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
DURATION: 28 weeks with a high chance of extension or possibility of permanent hire
PERIOD: 07/07/25 to 01/11/26
PAYRATE: $22/hour W2
DESCRIPTION
a. Administer basic life support in emergency situations to patient/youth and staff;
b. Use medical equipment safely;
c. Administer intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections and skin tests;
d. Administer eye/ear washes;
e. Administer prescribed medications topically, sublingually, and orally;
f. Administer basic breathing treatments;
g. Remove casts, splints, sutures, and other external devices;
h. Change simple dressing;
i. Collect blood via capillary and venipuncture techniques;
j. Collect lab specimens using appropriate collection equipment; label specimens appropriately for evaluation
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years performing services similar in scope to those defined herein in a public or private institution. Internship does not count towards the required experience.
2. Possess and maintain while providing services to CDCR a current and valid Medical Assistant Certificate from an agency approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California, to practice as a Medical Assistant.
3. Possess Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association Provider or American Red Cross (with AED);
4. Possess documentation of completion of a competency validation process meeting the requirements of Title 22, Section 70016 prior to performing the duties required by the CDCR.
5. Any Temporary/Relief Medical Assistants providing services through this Agreement must be proficient in the English language and be able to communicate effectively with the CDCR/CCHCS. All Temporary/Relief Psychiatric Technicians must be able to speak, understand oral and written communication and write effectively in the English language. Any Temporary/Relief Medical Assistant who fails to meet the minimum qualifications shall not be permitted to perform services.
E-Verify:
All employees are required to comply with E-Verify, an Internet-based system operated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in partnership with the Social Security Administration (SSA). E-Verify electronically verifies employment eligibility by comparing information provided on the I-9 form to records in the DHS and SSA databases. E-Verify check will be conducted, and the successful candidate must pass the E-Verify check.
Copies of personal documents and references will be collected. Must pass drug test and background check. Must have recent shots, immunizations, TB Test, etc...

Please note: As a contractor, you won't receive the same benefits as a direct hire, but you will receive 5 paid sick days after 90 days of employment and the option to sign up for Kaiser Healthcare and Delta Dental.
