Global Service Resources is looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to work in a Correctional Facility in Tehachapi, CA!
Job Title: Medical Assistant Location: Tehachapi, CA 93561 Schedule: 9:00 am to 5:30 pm (Monday to Friday)
*Orientation 2 weeks Payrate: $24/hour
Requirements:
12 continuous months of relevant experience within the last 3 years (internship not included).
Current and valid Medical Assistant Certificate from a California-approved agency.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross).
Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
Responsibilities:
- Provide medical services under the supervision of a physician, within Medical Assistant scope of practice
- Perform clinical tasks:
Administer injections, medications, breathing treatments, eye/ear washes
Remove casts, splints, sutures, and change dressings
Collect blood and lab specimens, conduct point-of-care testing
Measure vital signs, administer vision tests, assist with medical exams
Ensure confidentiality and practice infection control measures
-Support patient comfort, physical needs, and accommodations for disabilities
-Maintain facility security protocols and report potential security or safety issues
