Global Service Resources is seeking a skilled full-time Phlebotomist to join the team at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment and is committed to delivering excellent patient care.
Position Details
Schedule: 10:45 AM – 7:15 PM
Status:Â Full-Time
Weekends/Holidays: Rotating; must be flexible to work any shift when scheduled on weekends
Pay Rate:Â $26/hr
Qualifications
Minimum 1+ year of phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting
Must have prior pediatrics phlebotomy experience.
Valid Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT-1) issued by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH)
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples and other specimens from patients in a safe, efficient, and compassionate manner. This role requires excellent patient service skills, strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, and adherence to strict safety and hygiene standards. The Phlebotomist will play a vital role in supporting accurate diagnostics and patient care within a clinical or hospital setting.
Duties
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection using proper techniques such as blood sampling and venipuncture procedures.
Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and storage.
Obtain vital signs and document patient information accurately.
Maintain aseptic technique during specimen collection to prevent contamination or infection.
Assist in patient care by providing clear instructions and ensuring comfort during procedures.
Follow laboratory protocols for specimen processing, including centrifugation and transportation to the lab.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, including infection control practices and physiology knowledge to handle specimens properly.
Maintain accurate records of all collections, tests, and patient interactions in accordance with hospital or laboratory policies.
Support laboratory operations by adhering to established procedures for specimen collection and processing.
Skills
Proficiency in laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen collection/processing.
Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory practices, including blood sampling, venipuncture, and vital signs measurement.
Experience with hospital or clinical laboratory environments is preferred.
Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for safe specimen collection.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Prior laboratory or healthcare experience related to phlebotomy is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to patient diagnostics while working within a professional healthcare environment that values precision, compassion, and teamwork.
Note: As this is a government contract position, the onboarding process may take 2–5 weeks and includes a rigorous hiring procedure. References and personal documentation will be required. E-Verify will be conducted.
Contract employees do not receive the same benefits as direct County employees. You will be eligible for discounted Health and Dental Insurance and receive 5 paid Sick Days after 90 days of employment.
