Job Description

Global Service Resources is looking for a contractor in Los Angeles.

Job Title: Senior SQL and ETL Engineer 815
Location: Downey, CA 90242
Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Assignment type: Temporary (12 months w/ high chance of extension or hire)
Pay rate: $45-$50/hour

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support complex application and systems development
  • Design, build, test, and maintain enterprise applications and data systems
  • Analyze business and system requirements; develop scalable architectures
  • Ensure software quality, performance, and security compliance
  • Support data integration, reporting, and system optimization
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years in systems analysis, design, and programming
  • 4+ years in a lead or senior technical role
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Advanced SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • ETL/ELT tools: Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, SSIS
  • Data warehouse modeling (star/snowflake schemas)
  • Python & PySpark for ETL automation
  • Big data & cloud data platforms
  • Data security, governance, and performance optimization
  • CI/CD with Git & Azure DevOps
  • BI support (Power BI, Cognos)
  • 3 yrs SQL development & performance tuning
  • 3 yrs ETL/ELT pipeline design & deployment (Azure tools)
  • 3 yrs enterprise data warehouse development
  • 3 yrs big data processing (Spark / PySpark / Hadoop)
  • 3 yrs data integration (CSV, JSON, XML, APIs)
  • 3 yrs data quality, validation, and regulated environments
  • 3 yrs production ETL support & troubleshooting
